Biography:

Chia-Yu (Cathy) Huang, PhD, is a post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of Darrick Balu, PhD, at McLean hospital. Her research focuses on cellular and synaptic mechanisms of schizophrenia. Dr. Huang has background training in biochemistry and electrophysiology. She integrates morphological and biochemical analysis and state-of-the-art techniques in optogenetic and electrophysiology to better characterize the pathological condition of schizophrenia and develop clinical treatments.

Dr. Huang received multiple university-wide rewards and fellowships during her time at graduate school. She was also selected to present her research at “Sleep and Circadian Biology Data Blitz”, organized by the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research and the National Heart Lung Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
