Biography

Gail Tsimprea, PhD, RNPC, senior manager, Safety, Risk, Patient Family Relations for McLean Hospital and Mass General Brigham Behavioral and Mental Health, assesses practice patterns and treatment guidelines and oversees the delivery of care throughout the McLean continuum of care. Receiving her PhD in health services and social change, Dr. Tsimprea’s research focused on the development of innovative ways of helping patients in community residences self medicate with the assistance of non-medical personnel.

An instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Tsimprea has earned many accolades, including a Presidential Citation from President Clinton for her leadership, hard work, and commitment in the field of health care. She received McLean Hospital’s Vision of Excellence award and is the recipient of numerous Partners in Excellence Awards. Dr. Tsimprea was selected by the Boston Business Journal and Patriot Trail Girl Scouts to receive the Leading Woman Award for her seminal contributions to the care of those struggling with mental illness.
