Biography:

Heather S. Vestal, MD, MHS, is the co-director of the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program and an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Vestal is also the Psychiatry Clerkship director at McLean Hospital and a teaching attending on the Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder Inpatient Program. She completed her residency training at MGH/McLean.

Dr. Vestal’s professional interests include medical education and she is a co-founder and co-director of the Clinician Educator Program for MGH/McLean residents. She is heavily involved in teaching and mentoring of medical students and residents and conducts medical education research. Her particular interest is in physician wellness, and she is the chair of a national task force on resident wellness for psychiatry program directors.
