Kim R. Lezak, PhD, is interested in the etiology of various psychiatric illnesses including those related to anxiety and depression. Her doctoral and previous post-doctoral training focused on examining mechanisms through which alterations in pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide signaling mediated behavioral and physiological consequences of stressor exposure in animal models through utilization of pharmacological, behavioral, and electrophysiological techniques.
Dr. Lezak currently works at McLean Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Bill Carlezon in the Behavioral Genetics Laboratory where she continues to examine how changes in neurochemical signaling alter behaviors related to PTSD, depression, and addiction.
