Biography:

Robert J. Fenster, MD, PhD, is a research fellow in the Neurobiology of Fear Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Kerry Ressler and is an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He also serves as a staff psychiatrist on the Short Term Unit. His clinical interests include correctional psychiatry, treatment of PTSD, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and psychiatric care of patients with movement disorders.

Dr. Fenster’s research interests involve investigating cell-type specific molecular mechanisms underpinning long-term sequelae of early life stress. Previously, he worked in the laboratories of Dr. Paul Greengard and Dr. Myriam Heiman, utilizing similar cutting-edge cell-type specific techniques to investigate pathology of Huntington’s disease model in mice.
