Welcome to the Appleton Residence at McLean
For more than twenty years, the Appleton Residence has provided comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and long-term care to adults with bipolar and psychotic disorders, as well as other serious and persistent psychiatric illnesses.
Our mission is to provide the kind of personalized, comprehensive psychiatric and rehabilitative care that enables people to understand, accept and manage their illnesses so they can return to the community and live as independently as possible.
Located at McLean's main campus in Belmont, the program is among only a few residential treatment programs nationally located at a tertiary care psychiatric hospital. Residents have access to world-renowned physicians and psychologists who provide assessment, consultation, testing and psychotherapy.
Who We Serve
The Appleton Residence serves adult men and women ages 19 and over. The program is designed for people who would benefit from longer term residential care. The length of time people stay in the program varies, but the average is from two to four months.
