Program Description

McLean Appleton, located on the hospital’s main campus in Belmont, Massachusetts, provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment to adults with bipolar and psychotic disorders, as well as other serious and persistent psychiatric illnesses.

As a patient at McLean Appleton, you have access to world-renowned physicians and psychologists who provide assessment, consultation, testing and psychotherapy.

As one of the few residential treatment programs in the United States located at a tertiary care psychiatric hospital, Appleton serves adults ages 18 and older and is designed for people who would benefit from longer-term residential care. The length of time that most people stay in the program varies, but on average patients are with us between two and four months.
