International Consortium for Bipolar & Psychotic Disorders Research

This program was founded in 1995 and is directed by Professor Ross J. Baldessarini, MD, formerly Chief of the Neuropharmacology Laboratory (1968-2010), Director Emeritus of the McLean Psychopharmacology Program (1990-2010), and founding Director Emeritus of the McLean Bipolar & Psychotic Disorders Program (1985-2005). The Consortium engages in international collaborative research on the epidemiology and treatment of major psychiatric disorders with colleagues and trainees in the US, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia. Recent studies emphasize prediction of diagnosis and morbid-course in bipolar disorder vs. major depression, and critical assessments of the efficacy of treatments for these disorders.
