McLean Institute for Technology in Psychiatry

Justin T. Baker, MD, PhD, is the scientific director of the ITP and the director of Functional Neuroimaging and Bioinformatics for the Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder Research Program at McLean Hospital. His research uses both large scale studies and deep phenotyping approaches to understand the nature and underlying biology of mental illnesses, particularly lifelong conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Laura Germine, PhD, is the assistant director of the ITP and the director of the Brain and Cognitive Health Technology Laboratory at McLean Hospital. She is also founder of TestMyBrain.org, a citizen science research initiative with 1.6 million participants since 2008. Her research is oriented around understanding the relationship between cognitive health and psychopathology, aided by the development of web-based tools for measuring cognition that are accessible, scalable, and meet the goals and needs of patients.

Kerry J. Ressler, MD, PhD, is the chief scientific officer and director of the Neurobiology of Fear Laboratory at McLean Hospital. In addition to his translational research bridging molecular neurobiology in animal models with human genetic research on emotion, Dr. Ressler oversees the McLean Hospital BioBank.

Scott L. Rauch, MD, is the president and psychiatrist in chief at McLean Hospital. Dr. Rauch and colleagues have been pioneers in using modern technology, including brain stimulation, neurosurgery, and internet-based methods, to develop novel treatments for anxiety and mood disorders.
