Heather S. Vestal, MD, MHS, is a program director of the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Vestal is also a teaching attending in the Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder Inpatient Program. She completed her residency training at MGH/McLean.

Dr. Vestal’s professional interests include medical education and she is a co-founder and co-director of the Clinician Educator Program for MGH/McLean residents. She is heavily involved in teaching and mentoring of medical students and residents and conducts medical education research. She has a particular interest in physician wellness, and is the chair of a national task force on resident wellness for psychiatry program directors.
