Led by mental health experts from McLean and beyond, and featuring a powerful firsthand account from someone with lived experience, this course provides deep insight into the emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and interpersonal difficulties that characterize BPD and other similar disorders.
We also break down the harmful stigmas that often prevent individuals from seeking help and discuss ways to foster understanding and acceptance in clinical, educational, and personal settings.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of borderline personality disorder in teens and adults, such as self-harm behaviors and emotion dysregulation
- Identify diagnostic criteria for BPD and discuss common misdiagnoses
- Explain the various treatment methods that have been proven effective to treat BPD, including dialectical behavior therapy
- Outline strategies for family members to support someone living with BPD
