Jeanne Dolan, MD, a longtime staff psychiatrist at McLean SouthEast (MSE) passed away last week after a battle with cancer. Dr. Dolan, who earned her undergraduate degree from Tufts University, a graduate degree from Columbia University, and her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, was a compassionate and talented psychiatrist whose contributions to the McLean community will be deeply missed.
In addition to her commitment to the patients she cared for, she was also a caring and thoughtful coworker known for surprising the staff with little gifts to brighten their day, reaching out to colleagues when she knew they could use an extra hand or someone to listen to, and always willing to pitch in whenever needed. According to staff at MSE, Dr. Dolan “was one of those people who would give you the shirt off her back. If anyone went to her with a problem, she would bend over backwards to try to help. Her heart was always in the right place.”
Dr. Dolan is survived by her partner Stephen Garrity, as well as her mother Elaine Kelley, sisters Kathleen Dolan Kennedy, Patrice Morse, several nieces and nephews, and countless friends and colleagues.
McLean Hospital Chaplain Michael Cater, MAPM, will conduct a memorial service for Dr. Dolan at McLean SouthEast in Middleborough on Thursday, June 14 at 3pm. The McLean community is invited to attend.
Dr. Dolan’s family will hold visiting hours on Thursday, June 14 from 5-8pm at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton Square. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 15 at 11am at the First Congregational Church of Milton, 495 Canton Avenue, Milton.
