Biography
Abdelbassat Zerguine, MD, completed psychiatry residency training with a focus on learning about and utilizing neuromodulation procedures to treat treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. His keen interest in neuroscience evolved from performing basic neuroscience research in medical school to exploring the modulation of the neurocircuit with interventional psychiatry modalities, such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and deep brain stimulation (DBS). He is a member of The International Society for ECT and Neurostimulation (ISEN).
Dr. Zerguine is also interested in inpatient psychiatry. He took a role as an inpatient unit psychiatry senior resident and was involved in teaching medical students and residents particularly about inpatient unit medication management and psychiatric neurocircuitry. Dr. Zerguine wants to continue to pursue his interest in helping patients with treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders.
