Biography
Ana Gomes, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who has worked in various settings such as residential, outpatient, and inpatient treatment centers, including the Department of Veteran Affairs. She treats psychiatric patients across the life span, specializing in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Dr. Gomes is passionate about global public health and disaster medicine, which assist her in treating patients such as first responders, military members and veterans, and health care professionals.
Dr. Gomes emphasizes patient-centered treatment by incorporating a trauma-centered, holistic approach alongside medication management and psychotherapy. She volunteers with organizations like the American Red Cross and Medical Reserve Corps to provide disaster medical care, including mental health. Dr. Gomes actively advocates for global public health, with annual medical mission trips to El Salvador and Kenya. Her mission is to provide preventative care and education on community and public health and decrease the stigma surrounding mental illness. Dr. Gomes is fluent in English and Portuguese.
