Biography

Andrea L. O’Rourke, LICSW, began her career working with veterans and their families as a medical and psychiatric social worker at the Veterans Administration. In that intensive setting, she developed expertise in the areas of mood and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, and family systems work. In 1989, Ms. O’Rourke joined the McLean Hospital social work staff and has held significant clinical roles in a variety of programs, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential levels of care.

In her current role as senior clinical social worker at The Pavilion at McLean, Ms. O’Rourke provides comprehensive case management services, and individual, couples, and family therapy. Using a warm and collaborative approach, she also maintains a private practice. Her clinical interest include the areas of life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, attachment difficulties, and behavioral addictions. She is active in the community and serves on the board of Tunefoolery, a unique and courageous organization of musicians in mental health recovery.
