Biography
Avijit Chowdhury, PhD, is a post-doctoral fellow whose research focuses on contemplative neuroscience, such as meditation and prayer, at the Meditation Research Group at McLean Hospital. He specializes in using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to study the neural correlates of behavior and mental processes.
As a graduate student, Dr. Chowdhury also studied the role of regret-based decision making in depressed individuals and how it relates to brain activity, using fMRI and computational modeling to understand behavior in neuroeconomic tasks.
