Biography
Emily L. Newman, PhD, is a research fellow with Dr. Kerry Ressler in the Neurobiology of Fear Laboratory. Her work focuses on the neurocircuitry and molecular mechanisms that underlie stress and fear-related disorders. She uses highly translational models of social stress combined with genetic and molecular techniques, optogenetics, and calcium imaging to characterize and manipulate neural and molecular changes that contribute to anxiety-related behaviors.
