Biography
Erik Nickerson, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker. He has been in practice over 15 years. Mr. Nickerson utilizes a compassionate and collaborative approach in the treatment of individuals, couples, and families struggling with mental health and substance misuse issues and disorders. Since 2017, Nickerson has worked as a caseworker/therapist at Borden Cottage, a McLean Hospital Signature Addiction Recovery Program, where he facilitates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) groups and provides individual therapy.
Prior to Borden Cottage, Nickerson served as the clinical coordinator for the Maine State Prison. While there, he developed a model for integrated health care. Nickerson has also worked and provided leadership across multiple settings, including outpatient treatment in hospital, school-based, and community settings.
