Biography

Jodie O’Malley, MSW, LICSW, is the director of admissions and senior clinical team manager of the Gunderson Residence, an intensive, specialized residential program for women with severe personality disorders. Her clinical approach is an interactive style of therapy that is holistic of mind and body, drawing from clinical training, life experiences, and common sense alongside evidence-based treatments for mood, anxiety, substance misuse, and personality disorders.

Ms. O’Malley uses a combination of relational and evidence-based psychotherapies, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mentalization-based treatment (MBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI). By working collaboratively with patients to prioritize treatment goals and values and to select effective treatment interventions, she is able to draw on their internal resources and strengths. Ms. O’Malley also has a special interest in increasing mindfulness and the use of adaptive coping skills.
