
Joyce Velt, LICSW
Program Director, McLean SouthEast at Oak Street Adolescent Inpatient Program
Biography
Throughout her career, Ms. Velt has provided clinical treatment to a diverse population in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential centers. Ms. Velt has felt privileged to serve in a number of supervisory and director roles. From 1990-2000, she was the program director of the Riverside Outpatient Clinic, treating individuals with a wide range of mental health diagnoses.
Ms. Velt started working at the McLean SouthEast Adolescent Acute Residential Treatment (ART) Program in 2011 as a clinician for adolescents and their families. In 2013, she became the clinical director of the McLean SouthEast adolescent partial hospital program, which she helped grow into a thriving program. In July 2021, Ms. Velt was appointed program director of the newly established 22-bed adolescent inpatient unit at McLean SouthEast at Oak Street, which opened September 2021. She looks forward to developing this unit alongside a robust group of clinical colleagues.
