Biography

Neil Meyer, PhD, is a staff psychologist at The Pavilion at McLean Hospital. His clinical and research work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of personality disorders. He completed his pre-doctoral training at the Behavioral Health Partial Hospital Program and his post-doctoral fellowship at the Gunderson Residence. He has been mentored and supervised by renowned experts at McLean Hospital and throughout the country, including Drs. Igor Weinberg, Brandon Unruh, Mary Zanarini, and Frank Yeomans.

Dr. Meyer has extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), as well as highly specialized treatments for personality disorders such as mentalization-based treatment (MBT) and transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP). He has numerous peer-reviewed publications on personality disorders and their assessment. Dr. Meyer has remained at McLean throughout his career, focusing on utilizing evidence-based treatments.
