Biography

Saeed A. Hashem, MD, MSc, CPH, earned his medical degree in 2010 from Ain Shams University in Egypt, where he also completed his first residency training in neurology and psychiatry and obtained his Master of Science in clinical neuroscience with a focus on neurodegenerative disorders. After serving as a junior faculty at Ain Shams University, he moved to the United States to re-train as a resident in psychiatry, an administrative chief resident in psychiatry, and a clinical/research fellow in geriatric psychiatry and Alzheimer’s disease at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Hashem has been actively involved in research, education, and clinical practice throughout his career. His scholarly endeavors are focused on medication management, healthy aging, neurocognitive disorders, the education of primary care providers on geriatric care, and the utility of artificial intelligence (AI) in the clinical care of older adults.
