McLean's treatment philosophy places a strong emphasis on patient education, and patients in our clinic are encouraged to function as partners in their own treatment.
Our approach to outpatient treatment is focused on comprehensive evaluation and stabilization. Most clinical services provided are designed to be short-term. Should longer-term treatment be necessary, we will assist you in finding appropriate community resources. Some longer-term treatment is provided in the form of group psychotherapy and through the residency training program.
McLean provides evaluation and stabilization through outpatient services that are tailored to individuals' medical and personal needs and preferences. The services offered include programs connected to McLean's clinical programs. Although McLean is a psychiatric hospital, its outpatient service features a number of important medical programs, including a state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) center.
Medication evaluation and management is a specialty of McLean and some patients may benefit from participation in drug trials. Experimental medications are provided at no cost to patients.
The following specialty outpatient programs are offered at McLean Hospital:
All modes of talk therapy—individual, group, couple, and family—are available for outpatients.
