McLean's Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse offers a variety of levels of care.

Signature Recovery Programs

Each intensive, residential treatment program—Fernside, located in scenic Princeton, Massachusetts, and Borden Cottage, located in Camden, Maine—offers evaluation and individualized care for adults with treatment-resistant substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

Ambulatory Treatment Center at Naukeag

A treatment program in Ashburnham, Massachusetts offering residential or partial hospital treatment for adults with substance use disorders which may be complicated by other psychiatric conditions.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Inpatient Program

A structured, secure, inpatient detoxification program for adults with substance use disorders.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Partial Hospital Program

A program for individuals with substance use disorders who need intensive treatment but do not require the security or structure of inpatient care.

McLean's Simches Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry offers a variety of levels of care.


An intensive residential treatment program for adolescents ages 13 to 20 who exhibit impulsive and self-endangering behaviors.

Adolescent Acute Residential Treatment (ART) Program

A short-term, residential treatment program for adolescents ages 12 to 19 with emotional and behavioral difficulties including a track for those with substance use disorders.

McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program

In partnership with Franciscan Hospital for Children in Brighton, Massachusetts, McLean offers inpatient treatment for children and adolescents ages 3 to 19 who require intensive psychiatric stabilization.

Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services

An array of outpatient services are available for children and adolescents ages 8 to 19 with conditions such as depression, anxiety, phobias, and bipolar disorder.

Child and Adolescent OCD Institute

A residential program for children and adolescents ages 10 to 17 who present with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), specific phobias, and anxiety disorders.

McLean Anxiety Mastery Program

An outpatient program for children and adolescents ages 9 to 18 who present with social anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, separation anxiety, and obsessions and compulsions.

Child and Adolescent Testing Service (CATS)

A testing service for children and adolescents with neuropsychological difficulties that are interfering with their ability to manage everyday demands.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Institute

A treatment program offering residential or partial hospital treatment for adults ages 16 and older who suffer from severe or treatment-resistant OCD.

McLean SouthEast Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Program

A treatment program in Middleborough, Massachusetts offering acute inpatient care for individuals with various types of psychiatric illness such as depression, anxiety, and psychotic disorders.

McLean SouthEast Adult Psychiatric Partial Hospital Program

A structured treatment program in Middleborough, Massachusetts, for individuals who are in psychiatric crisis but do not require inpatient level of care.

Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Services

Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for individuals ages 50 and older who are experiencing emotional, cognitive, or behavioral symptoms.

Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Program
An inpatient unit for the evaluation and treatment of adults ages 50 and older with cognitive functioning disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Older Adult Program
A short-term treatment program for individuals age 50 and older who require an inpatient level of care for conditions such as mood and anxiety disorders.

Geriatric Psychiatry Outpatient Services

An array of services are available for adults ages 50 and older with depression, anxiety, and cognitive function disorders.

Older Adult Clinic
An outpatient program for adults ages 50 and older with mood disturbances or other psychiatric conditions who do not require hospitalization.

Memory Disorders Assessment Clinic
A comprehensive program for adults ages 50 and older focused on the diagnosis and treatment of memory disorders or other cognitive impairments.

SAGE: Successful Aging through Group Engagement
An outpatient treatment program for adults ages 50 and older with mood disorders, anxiety, or adjustment disorders.

Comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitative services for adults ages 18 and older who have psychotic disorders or persistent psychiatric illness.

Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder Inpatient Program

Specialized treatment for adults with schizophrenia, bipolar and other psychotic disorders.

McLean OnTrackTM

A program specializing in the recognition and treatment of bipolar spectrum disorders and other conditions presenting with psychosis for adults ages 18 to 30.

McLean's Division of Women’s Mental Health offers a variety of levels of care.

Hill Center for Women

An intensive, residential treatment program offering psychiatric services for women with histories of trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, and borderline personality disorder. A partial hospital level of care is also available.

Gunderson Residence

A structured DBT residential treatment program in Cambridge, Massachusetts for women ages 21 and older with borderline personality disorder or other complex personality disorders.

Klarman Eating Disorders Center

A residential, state-of-the-art treatment program for young women ages 16 to 26 with eating disorders.

Dissociative Disorders and Trauma Inpatient Program

A comprehensive treatment program for adults who suffer from the effects of childhood abuse or other painful traumatic events.

Gunderson Outpatient Program

A comprehensive, skills-training and therapy program for adults with borderline personality and related disorders.
