Carol Vallone Opens Panel on Connecting With Technology (TIPS 2017)

Advances in technology are creating almost limitless potential sources of data for understanding health and human behavior. This panel, Connecting with Technology: Why Psychiatry (Still) Needs Data Science, focuses on how we can take advantage of some of these data sources in the clinic and in the research laboratory using modern data analytic and machine learning approaches, to generate insights and improve clinical care.

This talk was part of the 2017 Technology in Psychiatry Summit, sponsored by the McLean Institute for Technology in Psychiatry on November 6-7, 2017, at the JB Martin Conference Center, Harvard Medical School.

Carol Vallone is a 10-year member of the McLean Hospital board of trustees and currently chair of both the strategy and ventures committees. She is a seasoned education technology CEO who has launched, scaled, and sold multiple market-leading global companies that delivered online learning software and services for colleges and universities. Ms. Vallone is also a member of the board of trustees of Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
