Available with English captions and subtitles in Spanish.
Suicide Assessment Workshop Co-Directors Douglas G. Jacobs, MD, and Alan F. Schatzberg, MD, introduce the themes of the sessions. Scott L. Rauch, MD, offers welcome remarks to attendees.
In his opening remarks, Scott L. Rauch, MD, president and psychiatrist in chief of McLean Hospital, refers to suicide as a pandemic affecting thousands of American families each year, with nearly 50,000 people dying from suicide in the U.S.
Rauch goes on to mention that it’s critical that clinicians, educators, and trusted members of our communities arm ourselves with skills to better care for those who are most vulnerable and need our support.
