Biography:

Kristin Beville, MSW, LICSW, MPH, is the director of the Department of Social Work, as well as the director of the Social Work Training and Education Program. She began working at McLean Hospital in 2007 and previously has worked extensively throughout the hospital, including as a clinical team manager in the Behavioral Health Partial Hospital Program and at the Appleton residential program. She is also currently the McLean Hospital Civil Rights Officer.

Ms. Beville has expertise in clinical work, research, consultation, supervision, academic training, and leadership and is extensively trained in family therapy and mentalization-based therapy. She approaches her work and leadership responsibilities by utilizing the knowledge base of both social work and public health to raise awareness through advocacy, decreasing stigma and debunking myths about mental health, enhancing preventative services within the community, training and mentoring younger clinical social workers, and delivering empirically validated treatments for individuals and families.
