By providing treatment, support, and education resources, at McLean we aim to help patients and families navigate the complex path to wellness.
Mental health covers a broad spectrum of diagnoses, from anxiety to trauma and everything in between. In addition to condition-specific treatment and resources, there are many treatment programs at McLean, as well as local and national organizations and helpful books and websites that support mental health in general.

McLean provides an array of clinical resources for patients including diagnostic and testing services, the McLean Imaging Center, care for individuals seeking outpatient treatment, specialty services focused on college mental health, and more.
Accommodations Testing Service
The Accommodations Testing Service at McLean Hospital specializes in evaluations for students with academic or learning difficulties who are seeking accommodations at school or for standardized college and/or graduate school exams, including SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, GMAT, or MCAT.
McLean’s Diagnostic Services include the Clinical Evaluation Center, Internal Medicine and Primary Care Clinic, and Neurology Consultation Service. The programs offer an array of evaluations and assessments to support patients on the road to recovery.
The Lincoln Residence provides a supportive and therapeutic setting for adults 18 and over who would benefit from additional support while transitioning to independent living. Whether receiving care at our Belmont campus or at outpatient treatment programs elsewhere in the community, we offer the expertise of our program clinicians, who specialize in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
McLean Imaging Center
The McLean Imaging Center is one of the premier imaging sites in the world, providing a rare blend of diagnostic services, cutting-edge research, and high-quality educational programs. We offer advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) diagnostic scanning. MRI provides valuable information that may not be available with other methods.
Neuropsychological and Psychological Testing Service
The Neuropsychological and Psychological Testing Service at McLean Hospital offers diagnostic testing and comprehensive evaluations of cognitive abilities (e.g., memory, concentration, problem solving, language, etc.), emotional functioning, and personality.
Spirituality and Mental Health Program
The Spirituality and Mental Health Program provides spiritually-integrated care within multiple clinical programs throughout the hospital. In addition, we also develop new methods to incorporate faith into clinical treatment, conduct research on the relevance of spirituality to anxiety, mood, substance use, and other disorders, and train and educate to raise greater awareness about spirituality and mental health.
