Biography
Benjamin J. Herbstman, MD, MHS, is a psychiatrist who provides individual and family consultations at The Pavilion. Dr. Herbstman supervises psychiatry residents and is a faculty member in the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program. He is also a co-director of the residency’s Program in Psychodynamics, which offers more intensive and advanced training in psychotherapy.
Dr. Herbstman has a private practice in Cambridge where he treats adults, couples, and families and advises and consults to leaders of organizations including family businesses. He is a faculty member in the adult psychoanalytic and psychotherapy training programs at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. In the past, he has served on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
