Biography
Mary Lou Silverman, MSW, LICSW, received a bachelor of science from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons College. Ms. Silverman has been a member of the clinical staff at McLean Hospital since 1986 working in a variety of settings including in neuropsychiatry, women’s treatment, cognitive behavioral care, the older adult care. She has worked at the Klarman Eating Disorders Center since 2004 to the present.
During her time at McLean she has developed a specialty in adolescent, young adult, and older adult psychotherapy. Her clinical background includes individual, couples, and family treatment, working with patients with a broad range of disorders including eating disorders and other coexisting psychiatric diagnoses such as mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, substance use disorders, personality disorders, and relationship issues.
