McLean Hospital and Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) hosted Ecuador’s first mental health congress, From Adolescent to Adult Mental Health: An Update on Best Practices, in March 2019.

USFQ, in collaboration with McLean, proudly presented a multi-day conference focused on providing mental health clinicians with a review of best practices, opportunities to learn from case studies, and in-depth trainings on some of today’s most advanced clinical treatments for depression, anxiety, substance use, and self-harm.

Congress attendees took an in-depth look at understanding and treating different forms of anxiety in adolescents and adults, Ecuador’s current addiction crisis, advances in treating depression, and caring for patients with suicidal thoughts and self-harm.

In addition to the two-day congress, McLean and USFQ hosted a third day consisting of workshops which covered dialectical behavior therapy, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and ketamine, OCD and anxiety disorders, and the use of technology in treating mental health.
