Linda Valeri, PhD, earned her doctorate in Biostatistics at Harvard University with a dissertation on causal mediation analysis. This method of causal inference is relevant for comparative effectiveness research, evaluating and improving policy recommendations, and explaining biological mechanisms. She then completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of researchers on studies of the social determinants of health disparities and of the effect of complex mixtures of environmental exposures on child neurodevelopment.
Dr. Linda Valeri recently joined McLean Hospital, where she has primary responsibility for the statistical consulting service of McLean’s Psychiatric Biostatistics Laboratory. The main focus of Dr. Valeri’s current statistical research is on modeling mediation mechanisms characterized by continuous, discrete, and time-to-event measurements in the presence of interactions, and when factors such as missing data and measurement error complicate estimation.
